If your old and fat, then the S2000 is probably the better bet.

If you want a car for the pleasure of driving, then the SI Elise is unbeatable! The SII is considerably heavier but, later engines were more powerful which halps balance that out. However, as we karters know, more power still doesn't improve your braking nor cornering.

Buy the S2000 if you want the pleasures of THE most fabulous Engine; buy the Elise if it's about DRIVING!

Buy the Boxter or the Spider if you are a poseur rather than a driver........!

The Spider is great fun but the Lotus team summed it up perfectly when they saw the first chassis and asked: 'Is THAT the chassis or is that the JIG in which to BUILD the chassis'. Even Renault will tell you it was FAR too heavy! Of course, 'drivers' knew that, 'poseurs' never noticed!!
