I considered your post well reasoned and hope because of that rarity, you do keep posting.

However I think newshounds own reasoning also makes sense about the Elise being a track day car.

Regardless of how much 'fun' you can have on the back roads on an early summer morning, they can't be treated like a race track. So I would advise the S2000, as being more fun on the road.

Having given that advice, I should also point out if I was buying one personally, I am pretty sure I would ignore my own advice and buy the Lotus.

As for:-
“the elise is great but lotus owners??? the resident lotus bigmouth on here is pretty typical of the bunch”

this doesn't make clear the causal effect between 'type' and 'Lotus'. But neither make any sense to me.
