I had never seen the interview with Ronnie on the Twin Engine Kart (God, don't you just LOVE the twin Parillas!). WQhat a shame the karts shown driving were 'lesser' karts. God knows what he was saying but, as always, he was reticent to talk. If you didn't know, he wa s slightly more approachable Kimi... until you got onto the subject of tropical fish and then you couldn't stop him: quite bizarre!
Those who didn't 'know' Ronnie's driving truly missed something..... all the speed of the (over-rated) Gilles Villeneuve but with the ability to nurse a damaged or lesser than perfect car to the finish. He also had the 'decency' of a true gentleman. Many of us 'know' that, great though Andretti was, Ronnie WOULD have beaten him in 1978 had he not honoured the contract to stay behind Mario.
A great man, sadly missed by many of us. And how we all failed Barbro ...
