it can take up to 30 days to appear on the MID , if it does not and you are stopped the car will be seized if you cannot prove either by producing the document or by a telephone call to the insurance company .

You cannot and will not argue its now black and white .

some cars don't appear on the MID for months , i know of several people who are law abiding who have experienced this , and i have just checked all our cars and mine does not show ... company policy and its not there .

Taxing the car nowadays isn't an issue with failure to display as they just check if its taxed and not displayed due to the 5 day postage system for online tax ... if they check and you have no tax expect another hefty fine .

the onus is on you these days .

being fair this is to stop those without cover and tax , like it or not i think its a good thing .
