I'm not sure if the Williams looks all that better to be honest. The angle of the shot is flattering it. From what I understand, the central part of the wing must be aero neutral [i.e. flat] which means the functioning parts of that 'road-sweeper' are the small bits ahead of the front tyres. Aside from the aesthetics, I think the biggest problem these things will face is when they come into contact with something else... particularly during the run into the first corner.
I still can't understand why they don't fit a simple single element front and rear wing similar to the type they run on single seaters at super speedways in the US. The wing would provide stability and minimal downforce through bends and corners.
