I think that all that is needed is common sense. Its a new era for Warden Law so I think that to make rules now is unneccessary. Get to the first round, see what its like, the people who are pros will be obvious, the people who are not will be obvious. I would say that to decide on the day is fair enough. They quite often used to do this in the PB endurance series. If someone was placed in a class that was clearly incorrect, they would change it on the day.
Or, how about we leave to the individual to nominate themselves for whichever class they want to be in. Its dead simple and will probably get the split right. This season I would say that Graeme, myself, Grant, Lee, Gregor and Wilko would have been in the 'pros', and the rest would have been 'clubmen'. (sorry if I have offended anyone with this!!) This is based purely on the fact that the winner of each race was nearly always from this group, with the weather playing a massive role when it wasn't. The rest were always there or there abouts and for this reason if they want to nominate themselves as pros then fine, but if they would prefer to be clubmen then it would seem to make sense.
I still say don't decide yet, just let it happen. Chill out and have a cigar!
