"Alan if it hadn’t had been the wording of the protests , then Mr Loop would have found something else to get the competitors off the hook. Basically you can do what you like to gain an advantage and get away with it".
Believe me when I say... I could have won the appeal based on the way the protest was made.... It didn't need an expensive lawyer. The Scrutineer can only check what he is asked to check following checks made DUE TO A PROTEST... and nothing else. Had the wording been correct (again....."Power Plant"....) They would have had to rule against the technical measurements/findings of their own Technical commissioner.... something I am not sure they have ever done before, unless you know different? No doubt in future..... everyone now knows how to word a protest against the eligibility of an engine and/or it's components.
Hope you have all paid attention to what I was talking about re: the number plate protest fiasco...... C5.2.2 You only have 30 minutes following scrutineering to protest an item that is apparent (i.e. visible.... as the bodywork and graphics were all weekend long).... You cannot wait until the final is over to try and win on a technicality. Glad to be of help!
