Graeme, what a refreshing post in this saga …… now we’re talking. Leaving the timing tool out of it for a minute –
“I would wholeheartedly support a de-tuned gx160 and make all the outputs equal but that isn't going to happen”
Totally agree – but this GX200 thing is suggesting just that – yet it seems to be thought feasible by some. I don’t, and would say the same as you do above.
“a split or fragmented prokart class” ……. Is what’s exactly on the cards here. To reverse that, by definition, it has to be a one engine formula. So, 160 or 200, we would back to where we are after a pointless journey.
“for the class to survive and grow again” …….. I would suggest for that to happen, we should be very careful what we do now, or it’s possible that the ‘remedy’ may kill the patient.
I know that this isn’t shiny and new, and it’s ‘boring’, but Graeme, or anybody, please tell me what is wrong with a one-class, one engined (160), buy-back formula ……. with a degree (lol) of help from the timing tool. Goodbye SPs.
Is that really any more of a punt that what’s (almost) happened.
There’s still time to stop this. EPEC may suffer a bit, but in the long run it’s the right thing to do. RPM won’t like it, but he who lives by the sword ….. If people want to go and play with something different then fine. Do something different, don’t play fast and loose with this.
With the underpinning of it’s present stability, it’ll survive.
IMO
