Hi Lee
You can buy a specific clutch removal tool from www.gx160.com. If you want to.
It's basically a converted grinding wheel removal spanner. We tried one of these grinding wheel spanners that we had in the garage and - hey presto, instant clutch removal tool. No need to go shoving bits of rope down the sparkplug hole, with all due respect Brian.
Though a long handled flat blade screwdriver has never let us down. The back of the flywheel has 4 renforcing gussets, you can feel these on your scredriver and that will lock the flywheel well enough to both remove and refit the clutch.
Ideally just get along to your local DIY superstore and get a grinding wheel removal spanner for about a tenner. It will become one of your favorate Kart tools for years to come.
