Hi guys looking for some advice, my Rotax has been hibernating for over two years in my garage and have just started to recomission it. But have run into some issues and looking for advice please.
Fully stripped and cleaned chassis Broke engine down and cleaned did not brake JAG seal Drained oil and checked balance gears, filled with new oil Stripped power valve and cleaned up, in good condition Fitted new wadding to exhaust checked perforated tube ok Stripped carbs and ultrasonic bathed them both Cleaned up all contacts on coil and fitted new earth strap Cleaned out Air Box (New type) Reoiled filter Checked through harness and found no damage Rebuilt full engine assembly: Carb, Exhaust, Air box Fully charged 3 Batteries (Yes there old but have a optimate 4 charger and these were all fine according to it) Fresh fuel and new plugs NGK Iridium 9IEX Starter sounds strong as it ever was and engine starts without issue.
Now is it starts and idles, will rev slightly but sounds lazy (Like it's missing every second ignition?) Struggles to get up to 4000rpm but if i throttle it over this will just die.
This is consistent with either of the 3 batteries and also with either carb and both new plugs.
Both carbs have been flow metered and ran consitently before without issue.
Fuel flow looks good but have noticed some oil residue coming out of the block inside the pulse pipe???
Suspect the coil is wonkey donkey but dont have a multimeter or clampmeter to back this up
Any ideas???
