New to karting/minimax and had good suggestions recently to get first kart running correctly. Have done the folowing: Drained fuel, replaced with fresh 50:1, added filter and new lines, carb stripped and cleaned , new needle (just a precaution) and clip top position, replaced plug (IW24 with new IW27), airfilter cleaned, new battery, fully charged, new exhaust wadding and baffle tube. I am surprised that this has made no difference to original probs: Kart starts OK but with no choke, is reluctant to rev and seems to be constantly "four-stroking", emitting large amounts of smoke. Idle srew has no effect on tickover speed. Am running on the stand which I know is not ideal but can't run on track in its present state. Oh yes, new oil (SAE30) in balancer gear. Does look like a seal gone but no oil entering pulse-pipe and now beginning to suspect coil problem as don't think its firing every revolution. Engine is sealed and apparently not run for some time although was assured it was trouble-free on purchase. Any suggestions greatly appreiciated.
