Thank you for the clarification, Graham.
You appear to have missed the point and made a number of statements which appear to be at odds with the true position.
Rather than pick at the detail, readers will note:
* The over-charging for tyres is just one example of flawed decision-making
* Consultation with competitors is apparently not considered to be a priority
* If cadet wets are available for €99 (£87) in Europe, why do they cost £140 in the UK? If 50p of the difference goes into a prize money fund, where does the rest go?
* The ABkC‘s own constitution (which it has never published) needs to be changed - but that wouldn‘t suit certain influential parties.....
It‘s open to the officers to postpone the proposed AGM to allow proper consultation and allow competitors the opportunity to identify individuals within their clubs who might want to promote an alternative vision, eg transparency (in line with the new MSA strategy), improved accessibility (even if at the expense at profit margins) and clear removal of conflicts of interest.
This would allow those members whose clubs did not attend the last AGM to make representations to ensure that they are properly represented.
It would give the current officers time to address, for example, the thorny issue of a Driver‘s Representative - whose job would be to offer a different view - but which appears to have been kicked into the long grass.
