I appreciate the sentiments Nick although John Hoyle is the one that had the vision to televise Super 1 so is the reason it is televised at all. I decided to start the HD YouTube channel last year and that has certainly been popular (just hit 200,000 views in the first year or so with 900 subscribers now).
There were many brilliant drivers in Super 1 that we never saw competing and winning as it wasn't televised, which is a shame. The current crop will be able to show their grandchildren what they did when they were their age, and THAT is THE most important thing I do.....record childhood memories you can watch forever.
ONE great result to look back on forever is difficult to value, and if you win a championship at this level, it is absolutely priceless. Ask Oliver York...who won two in one season last year. If he never wins another race in his life, he has a record on film of THAT year in his life when he made history.....and won the championship in one of the most amazing ends to a championship season in an amazing final race. Or Luke Hughes winning the 2005 Motors TV series by one thousandth of a second coming out of Lunar bend behind to steal it on the line..... something his dad will tell you they STILL watch today...... Not important? Ask them their opinion when they are 60. The fact it is televised is great.... but the memories recorded forever are far more valuable.
