Louise, I'm not having a go at you, there's 3 people on this thread that have openly admitted to breaking the rules on this forum over the last few weeks. I was simply stating maybe they should worry about getting themselves sorted before slagging off clerks....I'm sure you'd agree with that!
I do agree with you though that clerks and marshals do need to be accountable and need to set examples and be consistent with their application of rules.
However, karting is a bizzare form of Motorsport, ie never EVER come across (in my 10 years of marshalling, clerking and racing) ever experienced racers, and crews with so little manners, such disregard for the rules, and such bad driving standards. Maybe karting as a whole should take a look at itself, at the start of the year during a marshals/ clerks training day we were asked whether we would like to clerk at super one/ fks this year.....a room full of around 200 people just laughed and said no thanks....they were even willing to pay us, still no one wanted to do it due to the hassle you get when you do it.
You complain when you end up with bad clerks, in my experience, it's either because they're the only clerks that want to do it, because you get so much abuse when you do it, or because they are the bad clerks out there, and haven't been accepted to do other forms of Motorsport
