You can see that the idea that grippier tyres being 'easier' to race is probably incorrect.
In general, it's better to LEARN to race on LESS grippy tyres. There are additional skills that you will develop when racing less grippy tyres than with more grippy tyres. For example, you learn to create every tiny bit of 'grip' that you have and you learn how to maximise that limited grip.
If you start of grippy tyres, you don't develop the subtlety in driving to gain the most from your tyres as you will never have needed to learn how to do that.
Taking a simple example, the moment it starts to rain while driving with grippy tyres, you need to be able change your style to make use of the little grip that you have. Those who have raced karts with low grip, previously, will already know how to maximise that little bit of grip.
Trust us.... start in something:-
* cheap * with low grip * low power
Low power tends to be cheaper, low grip tends to be cheaper.
If you keepo your costs low, you will be able to afford to race more often.
As I have said before, it's not a good idea to start your racing with the fastest, most grippy karts. Go for something with cheap. Once you have learned to race something like that, you'll be in a much better state to race something quicker, later.
