If you are right, then you may know about the Bell..... but.... you haven't confirmed how you know that what's 'safe' on the Bell is safe on an OMP.... or any OTHER helmet...
Nor have you said how you know that the solvent that YOU used does NOT damage the top coat. It's highly possible that the solvent used by Mclaren is fine and, of course, you've used the same one..... definitely.......!
And what about the different effect of the paints on the (mostly) carbon fibre based helmets of the F1 guys and our more lowly helemts?
Let's try an analogy.... if I said to you that a mate who works for Force India told me it was safe to cut holes through your son's/daughter's seat belts in the car.... would you do so?
I just don't like the idea of people 'playing' with, possibly, THE most crucial piece of safety equipment on your 'son/daughter's kart.
I assume that the likes of JLF have researched the effects of the CORRECT paint for each specific type of helmet. I just worry when people seem to guess.....
However, it's YOUR money and it's YOUR kid's safety.... not mine!
