Of course that person wasn't me... wearing a Wright suit and a Dell Jacket and an ORIGINAL style Simpson 'Darth Vader' which made Richard laugh outloud!! That bloke's an imposter!
Daytonna is NOT crappy. As I have said MANY times, I've been around karts for YEARS! Richard took the time to show me around and I can say that it was one of the most, if not THE most, professionally 'managed' tracks I have seen anywhere in the UK. Their focus on SAFETY is VERY impressive! All the hire karts were well turned out and are a credit to karting.... unlike some!
Richard's work on the Arrive and Drive Rotax stuff was excellent! I drove one and was MOST impressed. He also seems to have employed simply the BEST system for preventing 'newbies' (and old sneaky people, like me) from pressing the throttle and the brakes at the same time! It simply disconnects the throttle every time you apply the brakes, seamlessly...... and simply BRILLIANT!
Of course, Ricahrd has arrived at that age where he would be badly, psychologally damaged if old men like Kai and me went faster than him so we agreed to let him post the fastest time in the Aixro. We haven't told him that Kai and I agreed to wait, stationary, for 5 seconds each lap on one of the corners that are out of sight of the Pits! Luckily, he never saw us doing it!
(....I'll give him 'perrenial hangers-on and drive-moochers' the NEXT time I meet him....)
Ian
A good day was had by all...... on the Aixros!
