Well/........ be CAREFUL!
The kart is the right type in some ways BUT.....
He claims his 13 year old son 'raced it'....... yeah.... likely! No MSA class of meeting would ALLOW a 13 year old to RACE a 115cc TKM! The 115cc is for 16 year olds and above.
You'll also note that it has Black Number plates! That is restricted to peoiple who have done LESS than 6 races. There also are not MANY 'novices' who 'leave' ANYONE 'standing'!
Finally, new rules about side pods and bumpers come into force in January. I do NOT know them well enough to explain them BUT they may make some old chassis ineligible. That doesn't mean that they are BAD or UNSAFE chassis or even that they wouldn't be GREAT to start on.... it just may mean you need to make changes to them BEFIRE you can race them.
However, a TKM 100 cc is the one for people below 16 and the 115cc is for Seniors. You CAN drive a 115cc younger but you won't be allowed to race os that would be silly!
